Food Truck Revolution

1. The Brackish Ladle

Run by: Old Marn “Slurpmaster” Dellik (human, face like boiled leather, smells faintly of regret and garlic)
Sells: Swamp Gumbo thick enough to patch a boat hull. Bits of crab? Maybe. Bits of crocodile? Probably. Bits of something with too many joints? Definitely.
Vibe: Steam rolling off a kettle the size of a bathtub, Marn ladling with the slow menace of a man who’s seen too much of the Murkfen Marsh and decided flavor is worth the risk.

2. Skewer & Screech

Run by: Three kenku siblings, collectively called The Screechers: Pip, Nip, and Rip
Sells: Marsh-Skewers—mystery meats roasted in spices pungent enough to make a dwarf cry. When a skewer finishes cooking, one sibling screams triumphantly. Always.
Vibe: Sparks flying, feathers everywhere, the sizzling of unknown protein, and that one repeated scream echoing through the Brine like a war cry.

3. The Tide-Turner Tacos

Run by: Esmira Driftwake (water genasi, seafoam-green hair, drips constantly but stylishly)
Sells: Soft-shell crab tacos, kelp-lime slaw, eel-oil glaze. Her fish is suspiciously fresh for a city this far inland. She does not elaborate.
Vibe: Blue lanterns glowing like underwater light, damp mist curling off her cart, customers leaving feeling like they’ve been kissed by a storm.

4. Fryfather Grotto

Run by: Big Fennick “Deep-Fry Pope” Gorv (halfling with a chef’s hat so tall it might actually be sentient)
Sells: Anything you bring him, battered and fried. Bread? Fried. Cheese? Fried. Rocks? He will try.
Signature item: The Marsh Pope’s Blessing—a fist-sized sphere of fried dough stuffed with smoked frog and cheese. Things get religious real quick.
Vibe: Oil popping, crowds roaring, Fennick shouting culinary blasphemies while dunking another unfortunate food item into his cauldron.

5. Venom & Vine

Run by: Sissava Coilwhisper (yuan-ti pureblood, elegant, unsettling smile, smells faintly of crushed herbs and snake musk)
Sells: Herbal wraps, medicinal bites, and “Invigorating Serpent Shots”—tiny vials of spicy green elixir that may contain trace venom.
Signature: Swamp Orchid Wrap—soft leaf wrap filled with spiced roots, mushrooms, and a drizzle of sweet sap syrup.
Vibe: Soft chimes, hanging herbs, low whisper-chants as she prepares each item like it’s a ritual. Locals swear the food heals the body and curses the mind simultaneously.
